At the heart of Illuminaria is our founder, Martha — a veteran of the Boston-area events industry with over 25 years of experience bringing memorable moments to life. Over the course of her career, Martha worked alongside some of the region’s most talented and creative event planners, and it was through those collaborations that the concept for Illuminaria first took shape.
Encouraged by the planners she worked with, Martha began developing a distinctive approach to event décor: combining backlit printed media with precision-cut foam core frames and warm LED lighting to create illuminated centerpieces, columns, and branded shades unlike anything else on the market. What started as an idea became a craft, and that craft became Illuminaria.
Today, Illuminaria is a family business in the best sense of the word. Martha is joined by her daughter, and together with a dedicated team of skilled craftspeople, they continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible — developing new products, solving new creative challenges, and bringing the same level of care and passion to every piece that leaves the studio.
